You are a young distiller who has reclaimed the family homestead in order to revive the lost art of maple spirits. It’s a lonely existence, but that’s what you need right now. You have promised to give it five years - five years to restore the rundown old place, to tap, brew, and distill your products and get them to market. Navigate the shifting seasons, send the occasional letter, make sure not to spread yourself too thin. In the seat of your ancestors, find your future.
Amber Lodge is a solo boardgame of resource management and action-placement. You begin the game with loaned funds and must turn the raw materials at hand into craft spirits that you can sell to improve your setup and pay down your debt. Maple sap can be converted into syrup, acerglyn, or acerum, and other wild resources like honey or fruit can be gathered and fermented as well.
